Artist Jennifer Slouha.....
Jennifer is a self-taught artist living in Holts Summit, Missouri. She was born in Solon, Iowa. Her aunt was a big influence early on, to her creativity, and so were several art teachers in high school. After high school, she went on to work and to raise a family, but found time to occasionally create artwork. At about the age of thirty, she realized there was a market for her artwork. She started creating artwork on river rocks and established her first LLC business selling her own river rock art at local venues in Tucson, Arizona. She began taking commissions that included pet portraits on river rocks and vehicle drawings on paper. She also sold her artwork in a couple of galleries in Arizona. After moving back to the Midwest and taking a few years off from creating artwork, she decided to give it another try. She started a new business, Jennifer Slouha Fine Art, LLC.
Jennifer's preferred mediums are professional grade colored pencils, graphite pencils, and acrylic paints. These media allow her to pursue a passion for realism and fine detail. The majority of her artwork tends to focus on details, specifically her graphite and colored pencil drawings. She has also worked in watercolor pencils, ink, charcoal, and oil paints in the past. She specializes in automotive artwork, but also creates art in many other subjects.
She is a general member of the Best of Missouri Hands. She is currently a member of the Columbia Art League in Columbia, Missouri, and participates in the Community Exhibition Program where she exhibits her artwork throughout the city on a rotation. She has also been accepted into Capital Arts Gallery in Jefferson City, the Art House Gallery in Fulton, and the Lake Fine Art Academy & Galleria in Osage Beach, Missouri for representation. Her artwork has won awards and been published numerous times.
