Artist Dianna Fowler....

I truly love to paint. I enjoy the challenge of each piece I paint. I'm a self-taught artist.  I purchased books and videos on different styles of painting and different subjects when I began painting.

I come from a musical family, so I've always loved music. I'm self-taught on the guitar and piano. I prefer my 12 string guitar, and I write the songs I sing. I guess that's another form of art I've excelled in. This past April, I was honored to sing in Jefferson City at our Capitol.

Most of the time I can be found in my art studio painting. My medium of choice is oil on canvas. When I began painting, I used oil and just stuck with it. However, I have used acrylic paints and want to explore that more. I try to paint only what touches my heart.

The very first contest I entered was in Washington, MO, where I won First Place while I was a member of the Mid-Missouri Fine Art Society. I paint landscapes, mountains, cozy home scenes, and beautiful horses. I love full moons, sunrises, sunsets and nature.

Almost everywhere I go I'm looking at things around me through an artist's eyes. If I see a painting on a wall somewhere that touches my heart, I will stand and study it thoroughly, gleaning every new technique I see.

I love the art of Jesse Barnes, Thomas Kinkade, and many others. I'm thankful for the gifts of art and music.

My wonderful husband Don helps and supports me in all of my endeavors. We have 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

God has truly blessed me, and through many heartaches I can still say "Life is Good".
